Zimbabwean man who recently arrived in SA dies in devastating accident

A 23-year-old Zimbabwean man who had only just started building a life in South Africa was killed on Monday in a violent crash in Limpopo.

The accident took place along R36 road in Mokgoloboto.

Zimbabwean man was new in SA

Tzaneen Voice reports that the Zimbabwean man had been in the country for barely three weeks.

The man, known as Tenda, had come to South Africa to find job and support those he had left behind in Zimbabwe, according to his family who spoke to Tzaneen Voice.

The family members described him as a quiet, hopeful young man whose life was only just beginning.

How the accident occurred

According to the eyewitnesses, Tenda had been waiting on the side of the road for transport near the T.J. Tavern bus stop when a Great North Transport bus and a minibus taxi collided.

The impact was so severe that debris flew across the roadside, striking him and ending his life instantly.

Tzaneen Voice reports that people who witnessed the crash said they could immediately tell he was unresponsive.

Paramedics later confirmed that he had died where he fell.

Police are still investigating what led to the crash.

The collision left several passengers injured and threw traffic into chaos along the busy stretch of road. Some commuters suffered moderate injuries, while others were seriously hurt as emergency crews rushed in to help.
