As always, great expectations will follow the Proteas as they head into another T20 World Cup campaign, but this will be the first time they do so after clinching the ICC World Test Championship last year.
With the fear of failure in big ICC tournaments hopefully behind them, the Proteas are set to depart for India this Sunday, 1 February from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
Their opening game of the T20 World Cup will be against Canada on Monday, 9 February, starting at 15:30 (SA time).
As a reminder, Ryan Rickelton and Tristan Stubbs have been added to the 15-player squad, which comes as batsmen Tony de Zorzi and Donovan Ferreira were ruled out due to injuries. There will also be great excitement about the form of another rising star, Dewald Brevis, who is riding a wave of confidence after an outstanding SA20 campaign.
