What tragically happened to Chrishell’s parents, as Nicole makes vile remark on Selling Sunset

Selling Sunset has had its fair share of shocking moments, but Nicole Young making a comment about Chrishell Stause’s parents, who have passed away, definitely topped them all. It really was the lowest any cast member has gone in their comments to each other.

In one Selling Sunset season nine episode, the group went out for a dinner. There, discussion turned to Nicole’s false claims about Emma Hernan having an affair with a married man. The topic was then moved yet again to previous allegations about Nicole’s alleged drug use. Chrishell had previously made comments on the show about Nicole being “on drugs”.

But, Nicole’s response to this was quite horrific. “Honey, you’re confusing me with your parents, ok?,” Nicole said to Chrishell. “You seem to be obsessed with drugs.” Amanza and Emma weren’t standing for the comments, and pointed out that Chrishell’s parents have passed away. Nicole was subsequently fired from The Oppenheim Group.

Selling Sunset agent Chrishell Stause lost both parents to cancer

After the comments were made, Chrishell briefly explained that she had tragically lost both parents to lung cancer. She said on the show her father’s battle had be long, whilst her mother’s had been short.

Chrishell’s father, Jeff, tragically passed away in April 2019. Her mother was diagnosed in February 2020, and given only a few months to live. Her mother, Ranae, died in July 2020. Despite what Nicole might have implied, neither of Chrishell’s parents deaths were anything to do with drug use.

In April 2019, Chrishell posted a tribute to her father on Instagram. She said: “We lost you today but it was a long terrible battle with cancer that started taking you years ago. I choose to remember you the way you were before it took it’s hold on you. You are at peace now, and ever the Catholic man at heart, I think you chose Easter for a reason.

“I grew up in an unconventional family and my dad was a drummer-the heartbeat of the music. Today we lost the heartbeat of our family but I am happy knowing he took his music to heaven. It just got alot more rock and roll up there. We love you so much.”

Posting after her mother’s death, Chrishell said: “Absolutely heart-breaking watching you take your last laboured breath, but there is a peace knowing you two are together again, free from the pain that plagued your time here.”
