Be prepared for the heat this weekend. Here’s what Saturday, 27 December, and Sunday, 28 December, have in store weather-wise for the North West, KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State.
NORTH WEST
The North West will start the weekend cloudy in the east during the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, with scattered showers and thundershowers. These will be isolated in the extreme south-east.
MAHIKENG
In the provincial capital, Mahikeng, conditions will be partly cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers. Saturday will be hot, with a minimum of 18°C and a maximum of 33°C. Similar conditions are expected on Sunday, with temperatures ranging from 19°C to a high of 29°C.
KWAZULU-NATAL
KwaZulu-Natal will experience cloudy conditions, cool to warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers. Along the coast, winds will be light to moderate south-easterly, becoming easterly to north-easterly in the south.
DURBAN
Durban will be cloudy with scattered showers and rain on Saturday, with temperatures between 21°C and 24°C. More rain is expected on Sunday, with a minimum of 21°C and a maximum of 23°C.
FREE STATE
The Free State will be cloudy in the east on Saturday morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme west, while the east may see scattered activity.
BLOEMFONTEIN
In Bloemfontein, Saturday will be fine, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers. Temperatures will range between 17°C and 33°C. Sunday will be even hotter, with a minimum of 18°C and a maximum of 34°C.
