You may want to bring out your flip-flops and sunscreen; tomorrow’s shaping up to be a scorcher. If you are in Mpumalanga, the Free State, or the Northern Cape, get ready for some serious heat.
MPUMALANGA
It’s going to be a hot one in Mpumalanga, with highs of around 31°C and lows dropping to 17°C. The Lowveld will really feel the burn, while the rest of the province can expect it to be partly cloudy and warm, with a chance of afternoon showers and thundershowers, especially in the central parts. Over in Mbombela, the capital, humidity will sit around 60%, so that heat’s going to feel extra sticky. Remember to keep an eye out for those quick afternoon thunderstorms.
FREE STATE
In the Free State, things are looking mostly fine, warm, and hot, though it might get a bit cloudy in the east later on. Bloemfontein is expecting a high of 31°C and a humidity level of just 25%, so it will be a dry kind of heat.
NORTHERN CAPE
As for the Northern Cape, brace yourself for another blistering day. There’ll be some early morning fog along the coast, but once that clears, it’s all sunshine and soaring temps. Expect hot to very hot conditions, especially in the western parts, where it’s going to be toasty. Along the coast, the wind will pick up, strong southerly to south-easterly gusts could make for a choppy day out at sea. In Kimberley, the capital and largest city of the Northern Cape province, skies will stay mostly clear with a top of 31°C.
If you are in these areas, remember to drink plenty of water and remain indoors if possible. Weather forecast data provided by the South African Weather Service
