Here’s what Tuesday, 30 December has in store, weather-wise, for the North West, KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State.
NORTH WEST
If you’re in the North West, expect some adverse weather conditions, as the South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 Warning for severe thunderstorms. Heavy downpours that could lead to localised flooding, as well as damaging winds and hail, are predicted in the western parts of the province.
MAHIKENG
In the North West capital, Mahikeng, it will be cloudy at first, becoming partly cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers. You can expect a minimum of 18°C and a maximum 30°C.
KWAZULU-NATAL
In KZN, a Yellow Level 4 Warning for severe thunderstorms is anticipated over the extreme north-western parts of the province. This could lead to flooding of susceptible roads, settlements and low-lying bridges.
DURBAN
It will be a cloudy day in Durban, with a minimum of 18°C and a maximum of 27°C.
FREE STATE
The extreme eastern parts of the Free State have been issued with a Yellow Level 4 Warning for severe thunderstorms. This is associated with heavy downpours that may lead to flooding of susceptible roads, settlements and low-lying bridges. Damaging winds and hail are also expected.
BLOEMFONTEIN
In Bloemfontein, expect partly cloudy conditions with isolated showers and thundershowers. You can expect a minimum of 17°C and a maximum of 33°C.
