WEATHER: Hot, wet and sunny in these 3 provinces

If you are in Mpumalanga, the Free State, or the Northern Cape, you might want to check the forecast before stepping out. Friday, 14 November 2025, is bringing a mix of sizzling heat and soaking rain across the provinces.

NORTHERN CAPE

It’s going to be a real scorcher in the Northern Cape, with daytime temps climbing into the mid to high 30s and even touching the low 40s in some spots.

NAMAQUA

In the Namaqua area, brace yourself for very hot and uncomfortable conditions. The South African Weather Service says these temperatures could make things feel unbearable. When it’s this hot, your body struggles to cool down through sweating, which can lead to hyperthermia.

The biggest health risk in this kind of heat is heat stroke, and it can be serious, even life-threatening, if not treated right away.

KIMBERLEY

In Kimberley, the province’s capital, you’re looking at highs of around 35°C. The good news is that it will be partly cloudy with humidity at about 15%. The chance of rain is only 30%, so you probably won’t need that umbrella.

FREE STATE

It’s looking warm to hot in the Free State, so expect a bit of a toasty day.

BLOEMFONTEIN

If you’re in Bloem, expect a high of 31°C and a low of 15°C. No rain is expected, so it will be a dry and pleasant day overall.

MPUMALANGA

Things are a bit different in Mpumalanga – you might want to keep that raincoat handy!

MBOMBELA

In Mbombela, the capital of Mpumalanga, it’s going to be a wet one with temperatures between 17°C and 22°C. Around 3mm of rain is expected, so prepare for a few showers.

Remember to plan ahead and stay safe in the varying conditions. Weather forecast data provided by the South African Weather Service.
