Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Brian Baloyi feels Pitso Mosimane can get the best out of Kaizer Chiefs players.
Amakhosi have had a decent start to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership, where they lie fourth after 13 matches. Having parted ways with Nasreddine Nabi after just six matches, Chiefs appointed Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze as co-coaches until the end of the season.
Baloyi, who played for Kaizer Chiefs in the 90s and early 2000s, feels the team needs an experienced coach like Pitso Mosimane to win the league.
“The players we have right now, and you look at where we are, I’d say we have a team good enough to win the league, not just to finish second, third or fourth. These types of players we have now, I’d say give Pitso this team, then this team will win the league,” Baloyi said on Soccerbeat.
Kaizer Chiefs lose ground on league after draw
Baloyi said Kaizer Chiefs needed to decide on appointing a new coach before the end of the season. He also backed his former club to bring in a technical director who understands South African football.
“We have to be honest about their inexperience. These two coaches have never coached at the highest level; they have always been assistant coaches, and now they are coaching one of the biggest clubs on the continent,” Baloyi said on SoccerBeat.
“The club needs to make a decision quickly about the next man because clearly there’s no way they’ll keep them next season. You need to bring an experienced technical director, who will help them finish the season, if they are going to finish the season because they are going to make a lot of mistakes,” said the Kaizer Chiefs legend.
