India has the Taj Mahal, China has the Great Wall, and while it’s rarely spoken of with the same regard, Wayne Lineker’s O Beach in Ibiza is undoubtedly the eighth wonder of the world.
Launched in 2012 as part of Wayne Lineker’s boozy empire, Ocean Beach is a dayclub, resturant, and hotel situated in Illes Balears, Ibiza. Not only is it the beloved hotspot of practically every Jack the lad 18-year-old in the country, but the club has also hosted everyone from Towie stars to football players, former Love Islanders to d-list reality TV celebs. Basically, if your wardrobe is 90 per cent Hugo Boss, you’ve proboably taken one too many Insta pics on those notorious circular loungers.
Nepo-brother Wayne, who is two years younger than his sibling, Gary Lineker, has been front and centre for the club’s 13-year tenure, taking pictures and mingling with celebs. He’s also got the image of being a bit of a lothario, despite claiming the opposite.

In an Instagram post that has since racked up 30k likes, some of which are from UK reality TV stars, Wayne Lineker said that it’s “impossible” to keep up with his lifestyle after getting sober.
In a lengthy caption, he explained: “So I made the decision to leave Ibiza this morning before the island won again.. Living my former Ibiza lifestyle is now impossible for me. Walking into Ocean is very different for me now being sober. Honestly, I thought I would be able to cope with it, but I found myself becoming a little bit miserable – hiding in the restaurant or leaving early which is totally not my character at all.
“It’s tough being the centre of attention too for all those people when they are shall we say ‘very merry’.. that mixed with the music, the sunshine, the shows, the dancers, the vibe, the venue, the orange cups in the air surrounded by what seems an eternity of bikinis makes it very very difficult.”

He continued to explain that therapists talk about triggers, and how staying away from “environments, places, certain people, [and] events” is crucial for the healing process. Considering he owns a somewhat infamous dayclub, “there is no bigger trigger in the world than Ocean for me.”
“One day, I’m hopeful I’ll find a new version of myself that can step back into the beating heart of Ibiza. But for now, I just need a little more time to heal… and that’s what recovery is. If there’s anyone out there reading this who’s in a similar spot, it’s ok, you can face your demons. Get yourselves help. Going to rehab was the best decision of my life!” he added.

“Next week I am going back to Priory Life Works @priorygroup and doing an interview/podcast with their production team, Priory Life Works Surrey, where I spent 6 weeks in recovery to do a special interview and tell my story, the journey I walked, sharing how rehab changed my life and ultimately kept me alive.”
Everyone wished him well in the comments, with Callum Best posting clapping emojis as Ex on the Beach’s Brandon Myers wrote: “Class this bro well done.”
