Tebogo Mnisi (38), the man accused of killing cousins Tshiamo and Baleseng Moramaga in Mamelodi on Sunday, 26 October, has chosen to abandon his bail application.
This follows Mnisi’s first appearance in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday, 29 October.
He faces multiple charges, including two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The bodies of Tshiamo (21) and Baleseng Moramaga (22) were discovered with gunshot wounds to the head on the side of the road in Mahube Valley in Mamelodi East, Pretoria, on Sunday.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), there was also a third victim who was shot during the incident and is currently recovering in hospital.
Ahead of Mnisi’s court appearance this morning, demonstrating residents of Mamelodi gathered outside the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court in a hive of song and protest.
Founder of the advocacy group Voices in Action, Kgotatso Moloto, told Kaya News that solutions to dealing with Gender-Based Violence (GBV) exist.
