British actress Rosamund Pike has floored South Africans with her accent in a clip that has gone viral on social media.
Known for her role in Gone Girl, Pike stars as antagonist Veronika Vanderberg in Now You See Me, Now You Don’t, which releases worldwide next week.

Speaking to US content creator Ian Paget, Rosamund Pike put on her best impression of a South African accent.
In fact, the British actress schooled her interviewer in a masterclass, with what is arguably the best accent from a non-South African celebrity.

On social media, South Africans were impressed with the actress, with some even mistaking her for one of their own.
Usi: “Nailed the Joburg mom accent!”

DIAMOND DEALER FROM SA
In Now You See Me, Now You Don’t – the third in the series of films – Rosamund Pike plays a villain, South African diamond dealer Veronika Vanderberg.
According to a synopsis, her character uses her family business to “launder the dirty money of warlords, arms dealers, and smugglers”. In the movie, Vanderberg attempts to pull off a mega diamond heist.
Pike stars alongside the Four Horsemen – a team of illusionists – played by actors Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher.
