Visitors to Kruger National Park have been urged to exercise extreme caution as heavy rainfall continues to affect large parts of the reserve.
Park management said the wet weather has created hazardous driving conditions, resulting in the closure of most roads inside the park until further notice.
Guests have been advised to avoid low water bridges, which may be submerged or unsafe to cross, and to stay off dirt roads that have become slippery and impassable in many areas.
SANParks urges visitors to heed warning
Visitors are also urged to strictly obey all road closures and warning signage put in place for public safety.
“The safety of our guests, staff and wildlife remains our highest priority,” park management said, adding that conditions are being closely monitored and updates will be issued as the situation develops.
SANParks has appealed for patience and vigilance, encouraging visitors to plan their movements carefully during this period.
All access gates into Kruger National Park remain open, but tourists are advised to contact individual camps directly for enquiries regarding conditions and activities.
SANParks said updates will continue to be shared on the SANParks – Kruger National Park Facebook group and other official platforms as information becomes available.
