About the Programme
The Triton Academy, a TETA-accredited training provider, offers training in Freight Handling and Professional Driving for both internal employees and unemployed learners.
This initiative is part of Triton’s commitment to skills development in South Africa’s logistics and freight transport industry. The 12-month National Certificate in Freight Handling (NQF Level 3) Learnership combines theoretical and practical workplace experience to equip participants with essential industry skills.
Learners will gain exposure to logistics operations, warehouse procedures, and transport functions, preparing them for future employment opportunities in the freight and logistics sector.
Learnership Details
- Programme Title: National Certificate in Freight Handling
- Duration: 12 months (Full-time)
- Type: Learnership (Theoretical & Workplace Learning)
- Stipend: R4 000 per month

Responsibilities
During the learnership, participants will:
Key Training Activities:
- Load and offload goods from vehicles.
- Prepare vehicles for trips.
- Handle and process freight documentation.
- Pick, pack, and stack stock accurately.
- Ensure correct stacking and securing of goods for transport.
- Assist with delivery and collection of goods.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Support warehouse operations including receiving and dispatch.
Learning & Development:
- Complete theoretical training aligned with unit standards.
- Participate in structured workplace experience under supervision.
- Prepare for final external assessment and certification.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizen aged 23 – 35 years.
- Grade 12 / TVET N3 / NQF Level 2 qualification.
- Minimum 40% pass in Mathematics and English.
- Medically fit for physical work.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Numerically orientated and detail-focused.
- Willing to work weekends and shifts.
- Clear criminal record.
- Must reside in one of the following areas: Germiston, Alberton, Boksburg, or Johannesburg.
Advantageous:
- Own reliable transport.
- Computer literacy.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience.
Working Hours
Monday to Sunday: 08:00 – 18:00 (rotational shifts).
