Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for the Young Professional-in-Training Programme 2025. This two-year structured and mentored development programme offers participants the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and professional exposure within one of South Africa’s largest state-owned enterprises.

About the Programme

The Transnet Young Professional-in-Training Programme aims to equip unemployed graduates (aged 18–35) with both institutionalised knowledge and on-the-job experience, helping them build the competencies needed to enhance their employability.

The programme is structured and assessed every six months, ensuring continuous development and alignment with both Transnet’s expectations and the trainee’s career goals.

🔹 1. Young Professional-in-Training – Johannesburg

Minimum Requirements

  • Honours or Master’s Degree in Ergonomics or Human Factors-CSO.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Must be a South African citizen.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma, Degree, BTech or equivalent qualification (minimum NQF Level 6) in Human Resources Management.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Must be a South African citizen.

Placement Locations

Successful candidates will be placed across various Depots and Departments, including Leeuhof, Krugersdorp, and Kilner Park.
