A TRANS woman who assaulted three cops avoided community service because the courts must treat her as a man.
Victoria Barany, 34, who lives in a female-only hostel, was sentenced to unpaid work.
But she could not be placed in a women-only work group due to the Supreme Court’s Equality Act ruling.
It means courts must treat people by their biological sex.
Barany also claimed she felt unsafe in a mixed-sex group.
Bristol magistrates’ court revoked Barany’s sentence and ordered her to carry out 28 rehab activity days.
They can include attending appointments.
A judiciary spokeswoman declined to comment.
But Sex Matters campaigner Fiona McAnena said: “How ridiculous to go along with his claim he’d feel unsafe in a mixed-sex group.
“This is yet another example of how cowed and indoctrinated our institutions have become.
“This is a man who assaulted four police officers. Why would he feel unsafe in a mixed sex group?
“Yet the judge made special arrangements for him because he claims to be a woman.”
