‘Top Billing’ to return to South African TV screens

South Africa’s most iconic lifestyle show, Top Billing, is making a grand return to television with a Reunion Special airing on Thursday, 27 November on S3 at 19:00, followed by brand-new weekly episodes launching in March 2026.

The announcement marks the revival of one of the country’s longest-running and most beloved TV programmes, known for its celebration of style, travel, design, and South African achievement.

A reunion event was held this week where former and current presenters, producers, and special guests gathered to toast the show’s comeback and its lasting impact on local television.

A celebration of South African excellence

Among those attending were presenters Ryle De Morny, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, and Fezile Mkhize, alongside former hosts Basetsana Kumalo and Michael Mol, Executive Producer Patience Stevens, and Cardova COO Bradley van den Berg.

Reflecting on the programme’s 27-year history, Stevens said: “Top Billing came so far from the very first broadcast done in a tiny edit suite at the SABC to filming in the most magnificent houses in the country – and indeed the world – reflecting the best of South African talent in design, architecture, art, fashion, travel, entertainment, and sport.”

She added that the show inspired generations of viewers.

“We often hear top achievers say how watching Top Billing gave them the vision and courage to make their own dreams come true. It’s wonderful to be back, promoting South Africa and South Africans to the world.”

A modern revival for a new era

Van den Berg said the revival represents more than nostalgia – it’s a reimagining of Top Billing for today’s audiences, blending the show’s timeless glamour with new digital storytelling.

Top Billing’s return is only made possible by the strong interest from advertising partners and brands that see the power of the show’s legacy and its connection to S3,” he said.

“We’re bringing the brand back not only on TV but digitally – expanding its strong social-media presence and connecting with audiences wherever they consume content.”
