Too much time with Eben? Sacha brawls during match [watch]

South Africans are playfully accusing Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu of spending too much time with fellow Springbok Eben Etzebeth after the young player got into a scuffle during Friday’s Stormers game against Scarlets.

The 23-year-old received a yellow card for fighting Welsh opponent Taine Plumtree, who is the son of Sharks coach, John Plumtree.

The Stormers beat the home side 34-0.

SACHA FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU LOSES HIS COOL

In the second half of the game, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu received the Stormers’ second yellow card after brawling with Scarlet’s Taine Plumtree.

The Welsh player received a yellow card earlier in the game after clashing with fellow Stormers and Springbok, Evan Roos.

In a clip posted on social media, a usually calm and collected Sacha is seen losing his cool as he gets physical with his opponent, shoving him to the floor and pushing him around. In another clip, Sacha seemingly gives Tain a telling off while the referee interjects.

The 23-year-old was given a yellow card for a foul.

In the comments section of the videos, rugby fans credited Eben Etzebeth – known for his fierce persona – for influencing Sacha.

Noel🍻Steel: “Eben is so proud now😂”

Shane: “Classic Eben move 😂😂”

WHAT EBEN ETZEBETH SAID TO YOUNG FLYHALF

In an interview on Behind The Ruck last year, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu claimed that the Springboks’ most capped player – Eben Etzebeth –  had threatened to “break” him during a training session.

Eben is known for being one of the tallest and fiercest players in the national squad.

When asked if he ever had an incident involving an older player, Sacha recounted a time when he received a “warning” from Eben, who previously played for the Stormers.

During one particular training session, Sacha explained that he had jumped up to catch a high ball.

He said: “Eben Etzebeth was in front of me. So I tried to beat him with my feet, go past him, and place the ball on the floor. As I placed it, he said: ‘Do that again, and I’ll break you’”.

Sacha stated that he sheepishly apologised to the veteran player afterward.

However, Eben jokingly denied the claims. Under an Instagram post of a clip of the interview, the 33-year-old posted a meme that read: “I don’t believe you.”
