The Springboks are soon expected to unveil their squad for the November Tests, which will include games against Japan, France, Italy, Ireland, and Wales on their five-match tour to Europe and the UK in November.
It’s expected that around 34 players will be selected in the touring group, and the Rugby Championship-winning squad could be boosted even further by some returning players.
Three players who could soon bolster Springboks
Kurt-Lee Arendse
The fleet-footed wing missed most of the Rugby Championship due to injury issues, but he is believed to making good recovery progress. In the absence of Arendse recently, young Ethan Hooker certainly impressed out wide, but there is no doubt the Springboks would welcome the return of KLA, who has scored 21 tries in 27 Tests.
Lukhanyo Am
The double World Cup winner has recently from injury at the Sharks, and he will be desperate to rediscover some form that brings him back into the Springbok conversation. Rassie Erasmus has already mentioned that he would like to get the 31-year-old back into the mix soon, and so it will be interesting to see if he could crack the nod for the end-of-year tour.
Aphelele Fassi
The talented fullback has also had a season disrupted by injury, and after undergoing surgery after picking up an injury during the Rugby Championship, it was initially thought he would be ruled out for the rest of the year. However, it’s believed that he has been making a speedy recovery, and now it just remains to be seen if he could be cleared to perhaps feature during the latter stages of the November tour.
