People think they’ve spotted a huge clue two cast members from MAFS UK 2025 secretly knew each other before filming for the show. Despite it being a big thing when the brides and grooms first meet, it would seem these two have a history.
So far, we’ve seen the brides and grooms meet their matches, get married and head on honeymoon. They’ve now moved in together, and are getting started on the real tough part of the experiment. At the first dinner party and the stags and hens, the cast members all met each other, beyond their matches, for the first time.
Well, that’s what we were made to believe anyway. There’s a huge clue grooms Ashley and Dean were friends before the experiment starting airing for us at home. People spotted they posted identical photos from Edinburgh Fringe Festival, even with the same man hanging around in the background. The background proves the photos were literally taken in the same minute.

“First Fringe and won’t be the last! What a great experience, so many great shows ,met so many great people and had the best time,” Dean said in his post. At the same time, Ashley said: “Edinburgh Fringe 2025.”
It’s unclear if MAFS UK knows they may have been friends before the show, and nobody has addressed the rumours they did as of yet. Maybe they’ve struck up a strong bond since? It’s all very confusing. I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
So far on the show, it’s vastly unclear if Dean or Ashley will have successful marriages. Dean and Sarah have struggled to find a spark after she was called out for making “fat shaming” comments about him, whilst Ashley initially clashed with bride Grace over his “traditional values” – but they seem much better now.
