The UK’s biggest indoor tropical waterpark where it’s always 30C – and you can stay all day

THE weather in the UK is getting windy and wet – so finding something to keep the kids busy is also getting harder.

But if you fancy some slides and pool time, the UK’s biggest indoor tropical waterpark is open all year round.

Waterworld in Staffordshire is a balmy 30C even in winter, so you can easily warm up as soon as you enter.

While it’s not the largest indoor in the UK – that accolade goes to Sandcastle Waterpark in Blackpool – it is the biggest tropical indoor waterpark.

It has undergone a number of renovations in recent years – in 2023, it opened its new £250,000 immersive play village.

And last year, £13million was spent up behind-the-scenes upgrades to the waterpark.

But with the attraction being open all year, it makes for a great rainy day out.

Along with the warm indoor temperature, there are lots of slides to take advantage off.

The Space Bowl is a popular one, where passengers are thrown around a “UFO” before ending up in the splash pool beneath.

Other rides include Nucleus – a water rollercoaster – as well as Stormchaser and Cyclone.

There is also Thunderbolt, which is the UK’s first trap door drop slide.

As well as the main wave pool, there are also river rapids to make the most of.

And outside of the water are two mini golf courses, each with 18-holes as well as a mini Adventure Village with everything from doctors to libraries.

One of the newest additions to the waterpark as well is the M Club Spa and Fitness.

A restaurant, cafe and gift shop are also of course on-site.

Sadly the outdoor swimming pool is now closed for the season.

Currently, the waterpark is running £19.99 tickets which gets you entry all day, and is on offer until November 3.

The waterpark has also revealed its top tips for avoiding the crowds.

They explained: “From September through February, Waterworld is at its quietest, making it the best time to avoid queues.

“You’ll have more space to enjoy the pools and slides without long waits.”

They added that exceptions are the two half term holidays in October and February, when you can expect crowds.

However, on quieter days you can stay the entire day, which is usually from 10am to 5pm.

If you come during the peak season, when there are separate sessions.

Families have raved about it as well.

One wrote: “Me and my daughter had a great time last week at Waterworld and ended up staying for 6 hours thanks to her not wanting to leave.

“I didn’t find it over crowded and queues were around 5/10 minutes for the slides in the centre.”

Another said: “Been coming here every year for 5 years it’s the best water park.”
