They were tasked with committing the first “murder” in plain sight, and the comedian targeted his pal Paloma Faith.

Alan ultimately struck the fatal blow by touching his unsuspecting friend’s face.

The remaining players, which includes massive names such as Stephen Fry and Tom Daley, attended Paloma’s funeral.

Since the scenes aired, the Only Love Can Hurt Like This songstress continued the show’s “rivalry” on companion show Uncloaked.

She said “These are like three of my favourite people that I was sure… I hope they never call me again.

“Bang out of order. Bang out of order. I feel really even more betrayed now. I feel betrayed by Jonathan and Alan.”

However, The Sun can reveal things are very much different behind the scenes.

An insider told The Sun: “Paloma’s sad to be out first from Celebrity Traitors but is keen to carry on the game.

“She’s been making digs at Alan on social media to keep up the pretence that she’s still a Faithful at war with a Traitor, but of course the pair are still incredibly firm friends.

“Both of them have been in the business long enough to know not to take anything in showbiz seriously.

“What matters is how they treat each other off screen.

“They’re looking forward to catching up soon for a Traitors debrief.”

Fans were left fuming at her early exit, with one writing: “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO we’ve just been robbed of SO MANY amazing outfits.”

Another wrote: “Don’t take it personally, I think Alan just felt you were the only one he could get away with touching your face.”

Host Claudia wrote in the comments: “I love you”, followed by heart emojis.

The Celebrity Traitors continues Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9pm on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer.
