After Selena Gomez married Benny Blanco last week, everyone wanted to know if she signed a prenup. The answer is yes – a “watertight” one.
They said “I do” at a Santa Barbara hotel called the Sea Crest Nursery, both dressed in custom Ralph Lauren while surrounded by 170 of their nearest and dearest.
The pair seem madly in love, but Selena is worth a whopping $1 billion in 2025, so signing a prenuptial agreement to protect her billionaire empire if they ever do break up was essential. Her husband is worth $50 million.
Sources told ShuterScoop Gomez’s prenup includes three main things: Her cosmetics brand Rare Beauty, her music catalog, and her big real estate portfolio.
“This wasn’t optional,” an insider said. “Selena built everything from the ground up. The prenup was about respect, not suspicion.”
Another source said Benny was “fully on board,” adding: “He loves her, and he respects what she’s achieved. There was zero drama.”

Selena launched Rare Beauty in 2020 and it was an immediate success. The company is now valued at over $2.7 billion, and Time recognised it as one of the most influential companies of the year in 2024.
Her music catalog is pretty stacked too, so it’s no wonder she wanted to protect it. Since her debut album in 2013, the 33-year-old has released three solo albums, one collaborative album, one compilation album, three EPs and a whopping 35 singles.
The billionaire has two LA homes in 2025, a $35 million Spanish-style estate in Beverly Hills and another huge house in Encino. However, her private property portfolio is likely to be much bigger.
“In celebrity marriages of this scale, love and law have to coexist,” an expert said.
It’s not clear what Benny’s terms of the prenup were, but it likely includes his own music and songwriting catalogues, having released his own albums and written tracks for some of the worlds biggest celebrities including Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.
