Becki Jones is a British national treasure. I have gobbled up her content ever since I first got her on my FYP in 2020. That is half a decade of being soothed by Ellesmere Port’s finest export since Blue Planet Aquarium. Becki Jones feels like home to me, and she felt like home. For years, I watched Becki’s profile grow exponentially, and whilst that was happening saw the disgusting comment section speak to her like she was nothing. You would literally have to hunt for something nice being said. Last year, I met Becki Jones in person at Girls Aloud in Manchester (iconic sentence to be able to say) and she was lovely, warm and everything you’d expect. In March of this year, Becki Jones announced she’d be leaving TikTok indefinitely – and with the state of the constant conversation around her and her weight it’s a testament to her resolve she never bailed earlier. In September, Becki Jones made her TikTok return with a big transformation – her comment section.

Becki Jones once posted about getting weight loss surgery, but never ended up having it. Becki has commented about her weight and the comments she receives about it and her diet frequently and mostly took everything in her stride. When Becki Jones came back last month, she was glowing. She has clearly lost weight, but it’s not about that. There’s something different. Taking her time away has given her such a joy and a renewed love for her life and her content. Her comment section is a place of utter celebration right now and I bet she is deservedly over the moon.

Becki Jones in her big TikTok return has stated that she is not ready to discuss her weight transformation yet. She has refused to return to her famous What I Eat In A Day content. As is her right. But what is crazy to me that despite the fact she’s got a new joy for life, I hate that she had to make big changes for people to treat her with the respect she’s always deserved.
As someone who was once a lot bigger than I am now – I’ve gone from an XL/XXL to a S/M – I know firsthand the respect people treat you with when you’re slimmer than when you’re bigger. It’s honestly insane. Becki Jones reclaimed hr narrative – but it should never have had to be that way.

Becki Jones deserved a comment section as joyous and kind as she ALWAYS was without any huge transformation. I am endlessly thrilled to see her thriving. I love looking down her comment section now, and no longer dread it. I bet she is absolutely buzzing. In fact, you can see in her content how much happier she is in every single way.
It just hurts my heart people couldn’t have given her this respect from the start.
