Teen dies after jumping off moving bakkie in Durban

A 13-year-old boy died after jumping off a moving bakkie on Jabu Ngcobo Road, Durban, in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), a white Nissan NP200 was travelling towards Inanda with six children seated at the back of the vehicle.

The deceased allegedly jumped off the bakkie while it was still in motion.

TEEN LOSES LIFE AFTER JUMPING OFF MOVING BAKKIE IN DURBAN

A vehicle travelling behind the bakkie at high speed struck the deceased and ran over him.

The deceased sustained injuries and died on the scene.

It is further alleged that the driver of the Nissan NP200 was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

The driver then fled the scene, leaving behind his partner and the other five children with the bakkie.

TWO DEAD BODIES FOUND IN NELSPRUIT

Two lifeless female bodies were found at Kamagugu in Nelspruit on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.

According to a police statement, neighbours in the area became concerned about a foul smell coming from a certain house in their neighbourhood.

They also complained of some flies around the house.

“The house appears to have been ransacked and it was during this time that two lifeless bodies were found.”

“The old woman was identified by her family as Ms Eunice Mahlodi (64), whose body was found half-naked,” read the police statement.

The second body, identified as 20-year-old Eugenia Dineo Masuku, was also found half-naked, with both hands tied with cables.

It is believed that Masuku was also strangled as a cable was found around her neck.

Emergency Personnel declared the two victims dead as their bodies were at the early stage of decomposition.

Circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation and police are appealing to the public for information that may assist in finding the perpetrators.
