Limpopo police arrested two suspects for murder in two separate incidents in Modimolle and Lephalale on 11 October 2025.
As tavern violence increases in the country, the police reacted to the killing of a 36-year-old at a tavern in Extension 11 in Phagameng, Modimolle.
LIMPOPO POLICE ARREST SUSPECT FOR TAVERN STABBING IN MODIMOLLE
A 36-year-old man got into an altercation at a tavern in Extension 11, Phagameng, Modimolle. He sustained stab wounds and later died in the hospital.
The police in Waterberg District, Limpopo, located the suspect shortly after the attack, arrested him, and confiscated the alleged murder weapon.
LEPHALALE MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED
In a separate event, the police responded to a fatal stabbing of a 36-year-old man at Mamojela Park on 11 October 2025.
Police investigations found that the victim went to a 29-year-old suspect’s home looking for his girlfriend.
He allegedly broke the door, and a fight broke out. During the confrontation, the suspect stabbed him several times.
Officers arrested the murder suspect immediately.
MURDER SUPECTS TO APPEAR IN COURT
The police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, says the suspects will appear in their respective magistrates’ courts on 13 October 2025 for murder.
