During the results show, Claudia introduced the dance and said: “Now it is time for this week’s group number which includes something called Steve’s Lava Chicken.

“Please welcome our professional dancers.”

The routine was based around the popular Mine Craft movie and some of the pros wore blocks on their head and were dressed as characters in the film.

It was certainly a colourful, fast moving scene – but viewers slammed the routine.

Taking to social media one wrote: “Doing a Minecraft dance is traumatising me.”

Another said: “What is happening? I feel ill!.”

While a third added: “It’s like a bad meth trip.”

“That group dance was…urm…interesting,” added another.

And another fan said: “Please can we sack the person who approved that Minecraft group dance.”

Meanwhile, Ross King and Jowita Przystał found themselves in the dance off against Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts:

Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Balvinder and Julian. Motsi Mabuse chose to save Balvinder and Julian. Anton Du Beke chose to save Balvinder and Julian.

Head Judge Shirley Ballas – who this week was the judge with the casting vote – said that she would also have chosen to save Balvinder and Julian, should she have been required to vote.

Sadly, this meant Ross and Jowita had to leave the show.

When asked by Tess Daly about their time on the show, a tearful Ross King said: “I have loved every single minute of it.

“I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, all the people who voted – they’ve been amazing.

“I want to thank everyone here in this room, backstage, the judges, the crew – every single person here has made me so, so welcome.

“And, I want to thank a very special lady who has been with me through it all and has been absolutely everything: she’s been a mentor, teacher, carer…

“I could not have wished for a better partner, and I could not have wished to be on a better show. Thank you judges for all your remarks.”
