FOOTY legend turned Strictly star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has blamed his much-talked-about trouser bulge on his costume.
Responding to fans’ comments after performing an impressive Cha Cha Cha last weekend Jimmy explained: “It was the trousers that were creeping up because of my thighs and I was dancing a Latin dance.

“It looked bigger than what it was, unfortunately I can’t be that macho about it.”
He joked: “But the wife is happy.”
Dance partner Brummie pro Lauren Oakley, 34, added: “To be fair it was all over the internet.”
The former Chelsea and Netherlands striker and ex-England coach, 53, has received praise from the judges despite being a complete novice to dancing.
But some of his old teammates, including John Terry and Gianfranco Zola, have asked why he didn’t return to play a Chelsea Legends football game today.
Jimmy, who is dancing the rumba to James Bond tonight, explained: “I agreed to do it before I agreed to do Strictly, so I had to pull out, and I was getting a bit of banter from my teammates.” But they’re interested to know how I’m doing and know how training is.”
Asked if ex-England manager Gareth Southgate would sign up, he said: “I don’t know if Gareth has got rhythm, he may not want to do it as he would be out of his comfort zone, but I’ll ask him next time I see him.”
Jimmy revealed he found performing on Strictly Come Dancing far more nerve-wracking than playing football for his country.
He said: “There’s no comparison, I was far more scared going onto the dance floor than going onto the football pitch. I would walk onto the pitch knowing I was good and feeling fierce, but dancing in front of the judges, the crowd and then people at home, all I can think about is what could go wrong. I am out of my comfort zone.
“On the first live show, I was seriously terrified, Lauren was brilliant though and put me at ease.”
The pair have thrown themselves into training, with Jimmy embracing the long rehearsal hours to improve.
He said: “It’s very hard on your feet. As soon as we finish rehearsals, I get my Crocs on – they’re really spongy.”
Jimmy’s secret weapon is the support of his family, with wife Natalie and daughters Ghislaine, 29, Miah, 18, Lauren, 16, and Khloe, 11, supporting him at home.
He said: “I practice at home with them. I’m doing it for my girls as we tune into Strictly religiously every week.”
Lauren hopes she and Jimmy can get to the Blackpool Tower next month.
She said: “We’re very much a week-by-week pairing, but with Jimmy’s potential I really want to get him to Blackpool.
“I don’t want to pressure him, but he’s got the talent.”
Jimmy added: “I just want to improve every week, there won’t be a stone unturned. We’ll give our all in every dance.”
