Strictly in new fix row as fans moan star has been ‘set up to fail’ by producers

STRICTLY Come Dancing has landed in another fix row after fans insisted one of the stars is being ‘set up to fail’.

ITV’s Ross King became the latest celebrity to be sent home at the weekend after he and Jowita Przystał lost out following a dance off against EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.

But viewers have insisted bosses were hoping social media star George Clarke and pro partner Alexis Warr would be the ones axed from the show.

George and Alexis, both 25, performed to Soda Pop from the Netflix show K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Fans took to social media after the dance to have their say, with one writing: “George was really set up to fail.”

Another said: “George and Alexis have been set up with that.”

Someone else commented: “George they set you up with that one.”

And a fourth added: “This is uncomfortable to watch.”

Even the judges were divided over the performance, with Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood clashing over their comments.

Shirley said: “You were flying like an angel. It was unbelievable.”

Anton Du Beke said George was a “super good” dancer, but noted how he was a “little reserved” and the overall dance “lacked edge”.

Shirley was shaking her head as Anton spoke, with Craig being the next judge to offer his feedback.

“I think Anton Du Beke is actually right. It needed to be sharper,” Craig said.

Speaking to Shirley, Craig went on: “I don’t agree with you. I think it was out of sync, a lot actually.”

Shirley snapped back: “From that end of the desk it might look one way but from this end of the desk, it looked bloody fabulous love.”
