The Test marked the first time the teams met since the Springboks’ dramatic 29-28 victory against Les Bleus in the 2023 Rugby World Cup quarter-finals at the same venue.
And once again it proved to be a happy hunting ground for South Africa who played half the match with just 14 men, yet still romped to a 32-17 victory.
The Springboks famously won their 2023 World Cup quarter-final, semi-final (16-15 vs England) and final (12-11 vs New Zealand) all by a single point – and all at the Stade de France.
Last lost 20 years ago
Making it an even more memorable stadium for the Springboks is that they also triumphed at the venue in the final of the 2007 Rugby World Cup, winning on that occasion 15-6 against England.
Earlier in that tournament they also beat England 36-0 in the pool stage and Argentina 37-13 in the semi-finals.
The Springboks have now played a total of 14 Tests at the Stade de France, winning 11 and losing three for a win percentage of 78.6%.
In the seven Tests that the Springboks have played France at the Stade de France to date, South Africa have won five and lost two, for a win percentage of 71.4%.
Their last defeat against France at the stadium came 20 years ago when the John Smit-captained and Jake White-coached side lost 26-20.
