ITHUBA, operators of the National Lottery, have announced that on Friday, 10 October, South Africans will have the chance to play for a guaranteed R130 million PowerBall jackpot, the highest jackpot of 2025.
As part of ITHUBA’s mission to create life-changing opportunities for South Africans, this historic jackpot is set to inspire dreams and new beginnings.
Increase in overall prize payouts
In addition to the record-breaking jackpot, ITHUBA also announced an increase in the overall prize payout from 48% to 50%.
This means that more money now goes directly to players across all winning divisions.
This adjustment reaffirms ITHUBA’s commitment to ensuring players receive even greater value and more rewarding experiences from every ticket purchased.

Meanwhile, Friday, 10 October’s PowerBall Plus jackpot stands at R18 million.

South Africans can participate in the PowerBall and PowerBall Plus draws through a variety of channels:
- In-store at all National Lottery retailers nationwide
- Digitally via the official National Lottery website: www.nationallottery.co.za
- On the National Lottery Mobile App (available on iOS and Android)
- Through major banking platforms
- USSD by dialling 1207529# and following the prompts
Ticket sales for Friday’s draw will close at 20:30 with the draw itself set to take place around 20:58.
The winning numbers published shortly thereafter on official ITHUBA platforms as well as The South African.
Players must be 18 years or older. Play responsibly.
POWERBALL
The PowerBall jackpot draw required players to pick five main numbers from 1 to 50 and one ‘PowerBall’ number from 1 to 20 for an entry fee of R5.00 per board.
POWERBALL PLUS
PowerBall Plus is exactly the same as PowerBall but gives players a second chance to win.
When buying a PowerBall ticket, players can pay an extra R2.50 per board to enter the PowerBall Plus draw.
Odds are the same, while prizes are usually slightly lower.
Both draws take place every Tuesday and Friday.
