Bafana Bafana, who were hanging by a thread, have officially secured their place at the FIFA 2026 World Cup after a commanding 3-0 win over Rwanda in their final Group C clash on Tuesday, 14 October 2025.
South Africa now tops Group C, with Nigeria finishing second after their own 3-0 victory over Benin on the same night.
Other African nations that have qualified include Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana, and Cape Verde.
Meanwhile, the World Cup group stage draw will take place on Friday, 5 December 2025.
