Qhawekazi Mazaleni was officially crowned Miss South Africa 2025 on Saturday, and the nation couldn’t be prouder. The 26-year-old beauty queen from East London, Eastern Cape, now residing in Gauteng, has captured the hearts of South Africans with her authenticity, intelligence, and unwavering passion for education.

Before taking the national stage, Mazaleni was already a beloved name on TikTok, known for her heartwarming and thought-provoking content. Her videos often explore themes of language, literacy, and empowerment, with a special focus on education in indigenous languages and access to learning resources for underprivileged children.

Her online presence has made her not just a content creator but also an advocate for inclusion and cultural pride, earning her thousands of loyal followers and admirers.

Mazaleni isn’t just about glitz and glamour, she’s also a qualified speech therapist with a deep commitment to helping others find their voice, both literally and figuratively. She holds a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Therapy and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology.

Her mission is to bridge linguistic and cultural gaps within South Africa’s healthcare and education systems, particularly for children who often struggle due to language barriers.

Qhawekazi takes the reins from Mia Le Roux, Miss South Africa 2024, who was widely celebrated for her grace, humility, and advocacy for marginalised communities.

Together, they represent a generation of Miss SA winners who redefine beauty as a blend of intellect, empathy, and purpose.

The Miss South Africa 2025 pageant was nothing short of spectacular, featuring dazzling fashion, inspiring stories, and a powerful message of unity. The judging panel included journalist Heidi Giokos, actress Cindy Thando Mahlangu, Miss SA 2023 Ndavi Nukeri, and Tamaryn Green.

Despite challenges earlier this year, including leadership changes within the Miss SA Organisation, the event reminded South Africans why this pageant remains one of the country’s most beloved traditions: it celebrates not just outer beauty but inner strength and national pride.

The beautiful event was held at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria.

As Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni plans to continue championing education, language diversity, and equitable access to opportunity. Her reign promises to be one of empowerment and authenticity.
