Somizi Mhlongo proves it’s never too late to learn as he graduates

South African media personality Somizi Mhlongo has officially graduated.
The 52-year-old received his qualification from the Villioti Fashion Institute.
“SOMIZI I AM SUPER PROUD OF YOU,” he wrote to himself in celebration.
He expressed gratitude to his family, friends and fans for their love and support throughout his educational journey.
“Thanks to my family, my friends for the love and support, and my fans for cheering me on from the beginning. @villiotifashion words cannot explain. Special shout-out to @moosas_fabrics — you made this journey easier.”
Somizi has previously spoken openly about leaving school at a young age to pursue his career in entertainment. In 2023, Sunday World reported that he had enrolled in a part-time six-month course at the Villioti Fashion Institute.
“I initially wanted to do a higher certificate, which is over a year, but I realised I couldn’t because it’s full-time and I have work,” he told the publication. “After completing my part-time course, I plan to register for a higher certificate. If time allows, I’d like to earn a degree in fashion design.”
