Siza Water is inviting students from its concession area in KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast region (between Etete and Zimbali) to apply for the Siza Water Bursary Programme 2026.
Bursary Closing Date: 28 November 2025
Location: Dolphin Coast, KwaZulu-Natal
Funding Duration: Up to 3 years (renewable annually on academic performance)
Fields of Study Covered
The Siza Water Bursary will be awarded for studies in the following fields:
- Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical)
- Environmental Management
- Financial Management
- Town and Regional Planning
- Trades (Electrician, Fitters, Millwright, Plumbing)
- Water & Sewer Treatment Process Controller
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary provides funding for:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
Funding is renewable annually, provided the student passes all subjects.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be from the Siza Water concession area (Dolphin Coast, KZN).
- Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Must be studying or accepted to study full-time at an accredited South African institution (University, University of Technology, TVET, Technical College, or SAQA-approved institution).
- Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in 2025.
- Must have achieved 65% in the subject relevant to the chosen field of study.
- Must have a total household income not exceeding R15 000 per month.
- Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged students, especially females and Black students (African, Coloured, Indian).
Required Documents
Applicants must submit certified copies of the following:
- South African ID document/card
- Grade 11 final results and Matric latest results/certificate
- Most recent academic results (if already studying)
- Proof of tertiary acceptance for 2026
- Parents/guardians proof of income (3 months recent payslips/affidavit/proof of pension or grant)
- Statement of household income and expenses
- Death certificate (if parent/guardian is deceased)
- Divorce certificate (if applicable)
- Proof of disability (if applicable) – doctor’s letter
- Proof of residence – original signed letter from Local Ward Councillor
