TODAY is National Bookshop Day and you’re bound to find a novel way of celebrating it.
Retailers are plotting plenty of events, plus there are some great deals available online.

Here’s are six smart ways you can celebrate National Bookshop Day[/caption]
Here, we give you chapter and verse on what’s in store . . .
GOT IT COVERED: Local bookshops are set to host a packed programme of events today such as author visits and storytelling sessions.
Browse their shelves and find out what’s going on. Many are hubs for the community, so ask about events and groups that might run all year round.
E-ASY ACCESS: Bookshop.org has launched a new ebook platform, so customers can get their hands on digital reads and UK businesses can profit from them for the first time.
Available online through the bookshop. org app, the service launched earlier this month with more than a million titles.
EAR, EAR: If you like to listen to books on the go, try libro.fm. The audiobook retailer and app shares profits with independent bookshops.
It’s running a sale until Monday and you can pick a local bookshop to support with your purchase. Bestseller Cleopatra And Frankenstein by Coco Mellors is down in price from £19.94 to £4.79.
BOOKS BONANZA: If you’re lucky, you could win a £250 bookshop.org digital gift card. Bookworms just need to buy any book from the site before the end of the weekend.
Winners will be contacted by email after the competition closes.
The Golden Bookmark draw will be made on October 31. See bookshop.org.
DOUBLE THE FUN: Waterstones and Foyles will offer double stamps to loyalty card holders in all their shops today.
You usually get a stamp for every £10 you spend. When you’ve got ten stamps, you get £10 credit to spend on new books in stores or online. So if you spend £10 today, you’ll get two stamps.
TOKEN GESTURE: Looking for your next great read?
Devour the contents at nationalbooktokens.com, where there are loads of book recommendations.
If you sign up to get its emails, you’ll be entered in a draw each month to win a £100 National Book Token.
