Luke ten Oever, the fiancé of former Miss SA Mia le Roux penned a touching letter to her as her reign drew to an end. Mia passed down her crown to her successor Qhawekazi Mazaleni on Saturday 25 October.
Luke, stated that it was a privilege to stand on the sidelines supporting Mia as embarked on her journey as Miss SA. He also stated that he is excited for their next chapter. Take a look…
“Dear my Miatjie. It’s been such a privilege to stand on the sidelines, cheering you on and supporting you when it mattered most. It’s true that not all good things are meant to be easy, yet you made it look effortless with your light, tenacity and infectious smile,” he wrote.
“You continue to teach me about life, love, patience and how precious every moment shared with the people you love truly is. Now that the whole of South Africa has seen what I’ve always known about you, why I fell in love with you, and why I keep falling deeper every day,” he continued.
“I’ll continue to support you until the sun dies out, just as I know you’ll do the same for me. Here’s to the next chapter of our lives, side by side, always and forever. Forever yours truly ❤️,” he added.

- Qhawekazi is a speech therapist. She holds a Bachelor of Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy
