The digital landscape of South Africa took centre stage last night as the annual South African Social Media Awards (SASMA) celebrated the nation’s most innovative and impactful content creators, brands, and agencies.
The 2025 awards provided a definitive look at the current trajectory of the industry, highlighting how digital platforms are being utilised in fresh and exciting ways.
The evening’s biggest names and emerging talents were recognised across a variety of categories, underscoring the dynamic nature of South Africa’s social media sphere.
Global sensation Tyla secured the highly coveted African Social Media Star of the Year award.
The awards also spotlighted phenomenal brand work, with Eskort Food taking home the prize for Social Media Brand Campaign of the Year.
Meanwhile, the popular hashtag #AshleyBrylnnOgle proved its dominance, winning the Popular Hashtag on Social Media category.
Adding to this recognition, Ashley Ogle was also named Emerging Social Media Personality of the Year.
