Actress and author Salamina Mosese celebrated a major career moment by serving as the Programme Director for the Soul City Institute’s 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner.
Sharing her reflections on Instagram, Mosese noted the powerful personal significance of the night, describing it as a beautiful collision of “work, memory, and purpose.”
Her connection to Soul City dates back 27 years to her very first job at age 13 on Soul Buddyz. Standing on the gala stage felt like returning to where her journey began, reminding her of the impact of purposeful storytelling.
A key highlight of the evening was honouring industry icon Lillian Dube, whom Mosese called her “on-screen aunt” and “real-life industry granma,” acknowledging Dube’s early lesson that their roles were about shaping lives.
Mosese also thanked her husband for his support and paid tribute to production company legend Motso Matsunyane.
The gala itself commemorated the three-decade legacy of the Soul City Institute, a vital social justice organisation dedicated to empowering young women and girls.
