Brenda Fassie with the launch of a new documentary series on SABC1.
Titled ‘Vulindlela,’ the four-part series will trace the icon’s remarkable journey, from her early rise to stardom to her eventual triumphant comeback.
The docuseries will follow Fassie’s initial breakthrough in the 1980s as part of the group Joy, and will then detail the industry setbacks she faced.
Bringing the story to life is award-winning actress Brenda Ngxoli, who portrays Fassie, while Sphamandla DhluDhlu takes on the role of producer Chicco Twala.
The production promises a rich blend of archival footage, in-depth interviews, and dramatic reenactments designed to highlight Fassie’s extraordinary resilience and enduring impact on South African culture.
