There is currently an epidemic of AI – we know this. But perhaps the worst offender of all is a certain series of videos that are all going viral and contain an AI interpretation of a woman jumping backwards with a massive rock and creating a glass bridge destruction disaster that costs the lives of many imaginary people. They’re all absolutely carnage – and clearly fake. But loads of people online, mostly mums on Facebook if we’re being real, are falling for it as real. Because of this and because of the fact this saga seems to be a genre of videos it’s also become a massive meme. Here’s everything going on with the AI glass bridge collapse videos as they dominate the timeline.
What actually happens in the videos?
Okay, in all the glass bridge collapse AI videos there is always the same type of vibe. They always take place on a glass bridge over some form of ravine – and there is always a collapse which costs the lives of everyone on the bridge. The other essential is this always happens because a smiling woman with a larger frame is for some reason holding a huge rock above her head, and jumps back maniacally smashing the glass and causing the chaos to plunge.
It’s extremely, EXTREMELY random. The video originally came from a Facebook page in late August and by an AI video content creation tool owned by the Magic Group.
Opened Facebook and Reels autoplayed. First reel had 57k likes and 12,000 comments.
Comments were overwhelmingly impressed old people praising a dog.
This is the reel. I’m not joking.

It became a huge thing on Twitter
One person riffed on the “last night was a movie” vibe by saying “last night was a AI generated video of a woman smashing the floor of a glass bridge with a giant boulder.”

The utter AI slop of it all is what’s made it a big meme – because everyone on Twitter is confessing that we’re all lowkey addicted to watching the glass bridge collapse. Why is it always a smiling overweight woman? Why is it a genre? Why is she always so joyous about her actions?
So much to think about. “Boomers have no resistance to AI slop”, says one. So true.
