Qotho Minerals invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the Quality & Laboratory Internship Programme 2025.
This 12-month internship offers hands-on exposure in a high-standard laboratory and quality environment that supports Proficiency Testing (PT) and the production of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs). Interns will work closely with the Quality Manager and gain practical experience aligned to ISO 17025, ISO 17034, and ISO 17043.

Qotho Minerals provides global PT services to mineral laboratories and produces CRMs for laboratories and geologists. The company’s quality-driven systems help clients enhance testing performance across mineral and agricultural analysis.
Programme Overview
- Position: Quality & Laboratory Intern (Data Processing & Analytics emphasis)
- Duration: 12 months (Monday–Friday)
- Reporting Line: Quality Manager
- Location: Broederstroom, North West
Key Responsibilities
- Quality System Support:
Document control (filing, distribution, tracking), audit prep, logging non-conformances and corrective actions, vendor evaluations. - Laboratory & Production Support:
Basic analytical chemistry and sample prep under supervision, QA/QC monitoring on the production floor, assisting PT and QRM teams with labelling and records. - Data Management & Analysis:
Compile, process, and present lab/production data in MS Excel; assist with homogeneity & stability study data; prepare basic QC charts and reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Completed 3-year tertiary qualification (e.g., National Diploma/BSc) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Food Science, Geoscience, or related Natural Science.
- Technical Skills:
- Essential: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Advantageous: Basic lab techniques & Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
- Competencies: Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisation/time-management, interest in quality systems and standards, ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality, proactive learning attitude.
