AN ANONYMOUS Ladbrokes punter might well have landed the single greatest punt of all time.
That’s the view of the bookmaker too as the bettor’s combinations of a 19-fold accumulator and £5.10 stake returned just shy of £400,000!

With a bet of that value and size, you have to expect drama. That was exactly the case.
In total, the Dorset punter placed eight bets on the same 19 selections from across matches in South America, on accumulators ranging from 30p to 90p stakes.
The plucky bet was derived from a bit of form checking, the punter says but also acknowledged they’d have to get lucky.
And they should’ve known they were in for a chance when the opening selection, Union Magdalena (6/4),sensationally came from 2-0 down with NINE MEN to beat Aguilas Doradas Rionegro.
Club Olimpia (7/10) also came from behind to beat Sporting Ameliano thanks to an injury time penalty.
Yet that drama was topped by Red Bull Bragantino (10/11) who were picked to beat Gremio and were awarded a controversial 102nd minute penalty which was converted four minutes later in the 106th minute!
Four of the eight accas were cashed out for a quite remarkable £172,038.84, with the other four left to run to bank a further £196,237.19 – which the customer didn’t know had landed until checking results the next day.

A total of £386,276.03 in sensational fashion, though the slight downside being the total returns would have been over £556k had they not cashed out!
The punter said: “I felt like I was dreaming… I had studied the form of a lot of the teams and just felt lucky.
“I cashed out on a few of the bets because I wanted to win something, and I wasn’t confident all 19 teams would go on and win.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do with the winnings yet, but I’m now able to help my family out… it really is a dream come true.”
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “When it comes to sheer absurd accas, this one tops the lot. 19 teams, all at home, nine-men comebacks, 106th minute winners, cashouts… this bet had it all.”
