The private investigator looking into the death of California teen Celeste Rivas has dropped a disturbing new theory for the case, claiming there was a “sadistic” plan for how her body would be disposed of after her death. Rivas was found dead last month in a car at a Los Angeles tow yard. The car belonged to pop singer D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, who was at first said to be “co-operating with police”.
Since then, connections between Rivas and D4vd have come to light, including photos of the two together and a matching tattoo.
D4vid’s former landlord launched his own investigation into the case after the police failed to name suspects or make any arrests.
Speaking on Law&Crime Sidebar with Jesse Weber, the investigator, Steve Fischer, speculated the “scary” plan didn’t involve how the 18-year-old died, but what was supposed to happen to her body afterwards.
Rivas’ dismembered remains were found inside a Tesla in early September.
The car, reportedly registered to singer D4vd, was parked near the $3.6 million Hollywood Hills home he had been renting. Steve, who was hired by the home’s owner, believes the car was meant to be a “holding spot” and that the original disposal plan “went wrong”.
He also said he thinks Celeste “had been dead for months” before she was found, claiming the last known photo of her was taken on the 2nd of January.

“Things changed around January or February,” he speculated on the show, hinting at a timeline gap investigators are still trying to fill.
Steve added that there’s footage showing who parked the Tesla, but didn’t share names. He also stressed there’s no evidence anything happened to Celeste inside D4vd’s rented home.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the LAPD hasn’t named a suspect. Officers searched D4vd’s home a month ago but haven’t revealed what they found.
Meanwhile, D4vd has cancelled his tour and delayed the release of his album, staying silent as the investigation into the Celeste case unfolds.
