- Residents in Pretoria West and the CBD will experience an 8-hour water outage on Saturday due to meter replacements.
- The City of Tshwane has urged households to store enough water and apologised for the inconvenience.
- A separate 6-hour outage is also planned for Saulsville Substation on Monday.
Residents in Pretoria CBD and West have been warned to brace themselves for eight hours of dry taps on Saturday, 11 October 2025.
This comes as the City of Tshwane’s Water and Sanitation Electricity Business Unit will be replacing damaged water meters in the Central Business District.
“This essential and inevitable work is anticipated to take eight hours, from 08h00 until 16h00, to complete. Residents are urged to store enough water for household purposes during this period. The City of Tshwane profusely apologises for the inconvenience that may be encountered during the water supply interruption,” said the City’s spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo.
Meanwhile, Rand Water is also planning to replace the Saulsville Substation Water Meter on Monday, 13 October 2025.
This essential work is expected to last for six hours, from 09h00 until 15h00, and will only affect the Saulsville Substation.
Mashigo added that the upgrade may affect other areas not mentioned and the City apologises in advance should this occur.
“Customers are further informed that, according to Council regulations, the City will not accept any responsibility for any damage to household appliances as a result of a planned or unplanned service interruption. We appeal to all residents to use water sparingly during this period,” he concluded.
