About the Apprenticeship
This structured 3-year apprenticeship programme offers young people the opportunity to develop into qualified Millwrights through a combination of:
- Theoretical learning at an accredited learning centre.
- Practical on-the-job training under the guidance of a qualified Artisan.
Apprentices will gain valuable workplace exposure while applying theoretical knowledge to practical challenges, including weekend and public holiday shifts.
Key Responsibilities
As an Apprentice Millwright, you will:
- Participate in theoretical and practical training.
- Apply problem-solving skills in real work environments.
- Work closely with qualified Artisans to gain technical experience.
- Contribute to a high-performance, pressurised environment.
- Uphold commitment to learning and development.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Curious mindset with strong problem-solving and reasoning skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Enjoy working with mechanical systems and technically inclined.
- Analytical, logical, and detail-oriented.
- Good hand-eye coordination and practical skills.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must have:
- N2 with four (4) relevant subjects, including:
- Engineering Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Electrical (advantageous)
- Mechanical
- Mechanical & Electrical Drawings
N3 qualification will be an advantage.
Experience
- No prior experience required.
- Relevant work experience will be an advantage.
Additional Information
- Apprentices must be willing to work a 6-day week and overtime when required.
- All theoretical modules must be passed at the management-specified pass rate.
