South African actress and entrepreneur Hlubi Mboya-Arnold (47) is celebrating her most recent achievement after graduating with an Executive MBA from the Henley Business School.

In a celebratory post on social media, Hlubi reflected on her achievement with inspiring words about the lessons she has learned along the way.

“One thing I’ve learned in life is that if you really want something, you have to just go and get it. When opportunities present themselves, don’t let them pass you by. The best way to predict the future is to invent it,” Hlubi wrote.

She also expressed her personal desire to be more than just an industry standard and encouraged her followers to strive for more in everything they do.

“Strive, burn and do everything you can to avoid being the industry standard. Even the highest industry standard. Be greater than anything, anyone else could ever dream of you. Rage against the tepidness of the mundane with every fibre of whatever makes You, YOU! Use your story as the edge; your background, your interpretations, your experiences: that’s the part no-one can copy and paste,” Hlubi added.

She is a South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) winner for Best Supporting Actress in the feature film Dora’s Peace and for Best Actress in Netflix’s I Am All Girls. She has also starred in numerous other feature films and series, including How to Steal 2 Million, iNumber Number, and the Showmax fantasy series Blood Psalms.

This year, Hlubi starred in the M-Net mystery series Recipes for Love and Murder and appears in the South African film Hunting Jessica Brok, directed by Alastair Orr.

In addition to her acting, Hlubi is an avid philanthropist who served as an ambassador for the World Food Programme, Chairperson of the non-profit organization Sunshine Cinema, and Global Ambassador for the Mandela Education Programme.

She has recently stepped down from these three prominent positions to pursue new business and human rights focused projects.

Hlubi has been married to her husband, Kirsten Arnold, since 2015.
