Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana superstar Relebohile Mofokeng has plenty of suitors across the globe, and a move away seems inevitable.
Mofokeng from Orlando Pirates to Sundowns?
Betway Premiership champions Sundowns have once again flexed their financial muscles with the acquisition of 25-year-old striker Brayan León. The deal will rise to R57 million. León is uncapped for his country. However, he has a handy tally of 78 direct goal contributions in 217 senior club appearances. This move might prompt Pirates to reconsider letting go of Tshegofatso Mabasa, although the 29-year-old is heavily linked with a move away. 21-year-old superstar winger Rele Mofokeng must ponder offers from Russia, Israel, the United States and Saudi Arabia. However, some readers have suggested that a move to Sundowns wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility. After all, they have the money, and they’re perennial champions of South Africa. The Bafana man is still getting going this season, yet to score in the league after nine outings.
Van Rooyen likely to leave Orlando Pirates
Right-back Deaon Van Rooyen is now firmly installed as second-choice in the right-back position behind Thabiso Lebitso. Van Rooyen struggled with injuries early in the campaign, but has been an unused substitute in the club’s last three matches. He started against Richards Bay in the Carling Knockout semis, but he always gets overlooked for big games in the league. He returned to being an unused sub in the Carling Knockout final win. Another player with an uncertain future is popular midfielder Kabelo Dlamini.
