About the Internship Programme
The Nyandeni Local Municipality Internship Programme 2025 forms part of the municipality’s contribution to national human capital development. Successful candidates will sign both an internship agreement and an employment contract, ensuring structured workplace learning, mentorship, and on-the-job training across key municipal departments.
This initiative aims to prepare graduates for long-term career opportunities in local government and related sectors.
Stipend and Duration
- Duration: 24 months
- Monthly Stipend: R5,000
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be an unemployed graduate aged between 18 and 35 years
- Must hold a relevant Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) from a recognised University or University of Technology
Internship Streams and Qualifications
Nyandeni Local Municipality is recruiting interns in the following offices:
Municipal Manager’s Office
1. Communications (1 post)
- Duties: Provide assistance to the Communications section
- Qualification: National Diploma in Public Relations Management or equivalent
2. Operations (1 post)
- Duties: Administration and support services to the Public Safety section
- Qualification: National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent
Mayor’s Office
Administration (1 post)
- Duties: Provide administrative and support services to the Mayor’s section
- Qualification: National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent
Council’s Whip Office
Administration (1 post)
- Duties: Provide administration and support services to the Chief Whip section
- Qualification: National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent

Applicants must complete the official Nyandeni Local Municipality Application for Employment form (not the Z83).
