- NSFAS applications for the 2026 academic year close on Saturday, 15 November.
- Students who miss the deadline will not be considered for funding.
- Eligible students are urged to apply early to avoid system delays and secure financial aid.
To everyone wishing to be sponsored by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) for the 2026 academic year, Saturday, 15 November is your last chance to apply as the closing deadline looms.
If you miss this date, unfortunately, you will not be considered for academic funding in 2026.
Students are advised to apply before systems become overwhelmed and risk delays or technical problems.
Who can apply?
South African students who are planning to pursue their studies at a public university or TVET college in 2026 are eligible to apply for funding.
Your total household income must be below the set threshold (often R350,000 for general cases; higher for disability cases).
You must also not already be funded by NSFAS if you’re applying as a new applicant.
If this sounds like you, don’t wait, head to the NSFAS page and secure funding for the 2026 academic year.
