House of Guinness dramatises the scandals, secrets and struggles of one of Ireland’s most famous families.
The latest hit Netflix series focuses on the fallout from Sir Benjamin Guinness’s death.
The cast is jam packed with a host of esteemed actors including James Norton.
Norton, 40, plays Sean Rafferty, foreman of the Guinness brewery, in the eight-part Netflix series from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
Taking to Instagram, James revealed how he brought his real-life dad Hugh onto the set of the Irish drama.
Hugh, who is a retired professor, appears as an extra in the show and eagle-eyed fans may be able to spot him in the back of some scenes.
Actor James uploaded a host of pics of him and his father on set including a pic of them performing together
He captioned the pic: “Blink and you’ll miss him #bringyourparentstoworkday”
Fans rushed to the comments gushing over the ‘sweet post’, one user said: “Oh that’s just so lovely.”
“This is the coolest thing ever!!!!! Makes me love the series even more,” added another.
“So sweet, how lovely x” chimed a third.
Whilst a fourth penned: “I love that your dad does this in all your projects! (heart emoji)”
Back in 2016 James also starred in Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace playing Prince Andrei Bolkonsky.
And the war drama isn’t the only series that Hugh has appeared in alongside son James.
Prior Hugh also appeared in Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Death Comes to Pemberley and Grantchester.
Previously Speaking to BBC Radio 2 about his dad’s appearances, he said: “He is in pretty much every show I do.
“My family have nothing to do with this industry. They stand on the sidelines bemused and very supportive, but have no idea what’s going on.
“My dad is recently retired from working as a lecturer at a college near Hull, and it’s a really great way for him and my mum to see the world.
“So my dad comes and dresses up as these mad characters, and my mum sits of the sidelines and just laughs at him. And they love it.”
